It is very difficult to find Halal Restaurants in Manila. But just don't expect much when it comes to the taste. Near Manila International Airport.

Taxi ride takes min max due to traffic. Some taxi driver will try to tell you flat fee to take you to Mall of Asia a ridiculous price our taxi driver initially asked for PHP each passenger. Just go to the next taxi until you find a driver that uses meter only. I give driver PHP. Mall of Asia has all types of shops you can think of. From inexpensive brands, to the high end boutiques.

Lots of restaurants to choose from. Has free WiFi. Has a supermarket within the mall. Has a ice skating rink within the mall. Also has other services such as massage no happy ending , manicure, pedicure.

Mall of Asia offers free luggage storage for travelers and those who are avid shoppers. It is located the exit adjacent to the ice skating rink. SM MOA is one of the largest malls in the Philippines, and even makes the list of the world's largest. More of a tourist destination in terms of shopping, leisure, and entertainment. A good mix of local and global brands. Ross B Melbourne, Australia contributions. It's definitely massive!!!! To cover the entire mall you will need a couple of days including lunch and dinner at the sumptuous outdoors restaurants.

So addictive was Mall of Asia that we were only in Manila for 6days yet we visited it twice!!!!! GlobalExplorator London 19 contributions. Never again! My family and I traveled to MoA on a recent Saturday evening. At about pm, we made our way to the "official" taxi stand for our 30 minute trip home.

The line wasn't overly long, so we anticipated about a 30 minute wait. Unfortunately, very, very few of the many, many taxis coming into the complex were heading to the taxi line to pick up passengers, instead opting to "prowl" the exits of the mall for scurrilous souls willing to pay a negotiated fare for the privilege of completely avoiding the queue.

MoA officially prohibits this practice and the few security guards assigned to the area were trying valiantly and bravely to prevent wayward taxi drivers from avoiding the "official" line, but they were simply too few to be able to make any dent on the massive problem.

The end result of that was that those of us who couldn't afford - or just didn't want - to be extorted by a taxi on the "prowl" were left with the absolutely mind-numbing, infuriating 3 hour wait!!!

You can just imagine how happy that experience made my family! I don't think the flagship of the entire SM corporation is cash-strapped enough to not be able to afford to assign a sufficient number of security guards to ensure that a fair proportion of the taxis entering your facility actually head to the "official" taxi line. I also would hope that you'd have enough sense to institute a proper system whereby the numbers of taxis that do engage in the "prowling" practice of soliciting illegal additional fares are recorded, with records submitted to the appropriate authorities.

For the sake of all those that make the same mistake that we did of heading to your establishment on the weekend, I sincerely hope you are reading this.

For all those that are reading this and contemplating a similar mistake, I'd implore you to explore your other options. It is considered the largest mall in the Philippines, and third largest in the world. SM MOA is noted for many "firsts", it being the first major mall undertaking at the Bay City, a land reclamation wonder in the Manila Bay area with the first Olympic-sized skating rink, the first IMAX cinema in the Philippines and the first giant solar-powered Christmas tree.

SM MOA has become popular to locals and tourists not only for shopping with stress-free parking, but also for food trips, exercise and photo shoots at the San Miguel by the Bay at Seaside Blvd. San Miguel by the Bay is an open park with dining strip and fresh seafood market.

I've even seen foreigners lay blankets as picnic mat at the cemented park, with their grocery foodcarts in tow, filled with snacks and drinks.

Fact is, SM MOA has now become a family favorite destination, proven by the crowds that went there this past Holiday season. Though Filipino families traditionally spend Christmas eve and New Year's eve at home, this time, thousands flocked to the Seaside open park to watch the parade of lights, the awesome fireworks and the beautiful ft solar-powered Christmas tree.

The 35 solar panels used in the Christmas tree was donated by Sunpower Corp. Sunpower is said to be the biggest solar energy supplier in Europe and America. LED or light-emitting diodes were used to adorn the tree to optimize solar energy. Firefly is said to be the donor of the LED lights and it sponsored the construction of the Christmas tree. The LEDs last 50, hours and considered to be the most energy-efficient lighting.

Rain poured, but the crowd remained with their umbrellas, some even enjoyed getting wet in the rain. We will! First thing I'll say is this mall is huge! So many stores to choose from. The mall is very crouded as expected. Security is very tight at every entrance. And you will be frisked on your back and hip area. Also any bags you have. As terrorism is a big problem there.

Its a very clean shiny mall. There is a large ice skating rink where you can rent skates to use. As well as a veiwing area if you just want to watch everyone else fall down. Also a large food court with many choices. The mall has a marine show just outside where seals and dolphins to tricks. But it costs extra. But its worth watching.

The small kids can enjoy the indoor carnival rides. And the older adults who don't want to grow up yet. Theres many areas just outside the doors to sit and watch the ocean that is like 25 feet away. A very pretty veiw. One thing that kinda sucked was to go to another part of the mall you had to go outside and walk to the other doors, Witch means more frisking by male gaurds.

I kept trying to go through the womens side so the female gaurd would frisk me. But the male gaurds said no sorry. Many good deals in there. About what kind of money to bring. They don't except travelers checks ,american dallors, They except pesos only. I had to cash in all my money and travelers checks. Also if you plan to do any banking at mall of asia. Bring your pass port as id. Or you'll be refused. This mall is well worth the visit. It has so much to offer and its huge!!!

I hope my reveiw was a help. Victorianlad Melbourne, Australia 16, contributions. Involves much open-air walking. Mall of Asia is not my favourite Manila mall. Unlike Robinsons Place in Ermita, Mall of Asia is a series of buildings with open air walkways between.

This means not only a lot of walking between the buildings, but a lot of 'open-air' walking that for those who come from more temperate climates some parts of Australia, Canada, much of Europe and some parts of the US means a hot, swaety and sticky experience. Having said that, the variety of shops and restaurants is first class, the food court is excellent and the shop assistants generally friendly.

Prices are not the cheapest in Manila but they are way below Australian prices especially for clothing and footwear, as well as food. In , the globe was turned into Globamaze, an LED display. The mall includes branches of all of the standard anchor stores found in most of the SM Supermalls.
