Besides, with the GTN help you can earn more than enough solo questing to do this if you don't buy any expensive stuff like blue gear , you are usually mauling the mobs enough as is. Final tip - when you get near 50, don't buy Corellia stuff republic side at least. At 50 you can buy Makeb stuff using the normal planetary commendations and those are much stronger and allows you to lay a beating on your final story boss. Thank you for the advice! I'll keep the other info in mind for when I hit 50! You cannot use commendations to purchase mods when you hit lvl 50, but you can buy armor sets and whatnot. The Makeb planetary vendors sell Rakata level barrels, hilts, armorings, mods, and enhancements for commendations.

No problem. What is a Rakata mod? What is the required level for them? Rakata is one of the original three tiers of raid gear. They require level 50, and there is a Makeb Planetary Commendation vendor on fleet. I don't know if you need the expansion to have access to them. Rakata isn't amazing anymore, but I've played through Makeb 11 times and they're better than all of the drops I've gotten from mobs and better than the mission rewards.

However the Rakata gear will take you from no problem. Rakata gear is what the Classic Commendation vendors sell. However, the amount of time it would take a fresh 50 to gear up in Rakata is much longer than the time it would take to run Makeb or get planetary comms from miscellaneous Heroics hint: even the low-planet heroics still give planetary comms :D for the Makeb Modification Vendor.

The Obroan and Brutalizer sets will be removed from vendors and replaced by the new Unranked and Ranked sets respectively. They will remain the same and you can collect them from a different vendor. Likely the same gear, but the comm drops will be basic. Currently we have the Makeb comm vendor selling Rakata Rating mods and Classic comm vendors selling Campaign Rating stuff; both tiers are level Campaign gear is nice because it has a set bonus. But then we get to level 55 gear that used to be purchased with three different kinds of comms, plus Artifact Rating gear which you get for completing the Oricon story. So now, Black Market, Verpine and Oriconian will have the same level requirement and will be purchased with the same comms Basic , which is some serious gear overlap at level No reason to change the number of vendors.

I assume they will keep them, they will just all accept basic comms, and probably each one will have a different minimum level requirement much like planetary comms work now.

I actually like the idea of current 55 gear being spread a little over levels i. And the proposed limit to have that gear at lvl would mean all of those players have to wear old gear. Not sure how a retroactive allowance would work or if it could even be coded to allow for that separation. They didnt keep Black hole or Hazmat on a vendor. But who knows? So are they going to change the cost of crafting items too? Why would you spent basic comms on gear when you can get, what I assume to be, gear with them in 3.

Well, first of all the gear is B gear…. Therefore, I'm really hoping at least one individual can help me out - as it would be greatly appreciated. Over the course of my progression, I managed to accumulate 25 of these "Commendations" along the way. Well, they're apparently have a "Simple Artifact Lockbox" that costs a whopping 24 Commendations - and needless to say, I'm intrigued to say the least.

Naturally however, I'm a bit skeptical at the same time and worried that if purchased , I'll merely end-up with some random waste of an item that is hardly worth the surprise and overall effort. Therefore, I figured what better than to ask this fine Community whether anyone has opened this particular Lockbox -and if so, was the juice worth the squeeze? While doing some research, I ran across one person that mentioned this Lockbox was "bugged", but who knows how truthful this testimonial happened to be, since it was a rather VAGUE rant.

I however think I got xtreme lucky since from a simular lockbox on Nar Shadaa bit higher tier I got green trash which was a waste of commendations.

The Force is with me. Owsley You'll get a random purple item appropriate to the level. It's more or less a crap shoot but you can always sell it on the GTN if you don't need it or can't use it. If there are no other items that interest you, go for it.

You can always redo the heroics daily for 3 commendations a pop. Thanks for the replies.
