Send a recruit on a successful contract mission for even more experience. As recruits level up, you can spend experience bonuses to improve their skills, making them more powerful in combat.

When a recruit reaches the maximum level, visit Ezio's hideout on Tiber Island for a ceremony scene that promotes the recruit to a real assassin. Once you've got some recruits, you'll notice red bars that appear under Ezio's health bar in the upper-left corner of the screen.
